We are excited to highlight the success of NBHN member Red Rock Behavioral Health Services!
Red Rock is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) located in Oklahoma. CCBHCs are behavioral health clinics designed to provide a comprehensive range of mental health and substance use disorder services to vulnerable individuals. In return, CCBHCs receive an enhanced Medicaid reimbursement rate based on their anticipated costs of expanding services to meet the needs of these complex populations. After becoming a member of NBHN, Red Rock joined our CCBHC Peer Learning Network and Master Class Learning Community where they set their sights on lowering tobacco utilization rates among their clients and increasing tobacco and cancer education for not only the people they serve, but also their staff and leadership. As a result of their participation in the CCBHC Community of Practice, Red Rock partnered with NBHN once again to provide a Tobacco and Cancer Education Session to their clients and staff. Participants engaged with the Tips from Former Smokers Campaign and learned about the impact of tobacco utilization on their health and wellness.
As a result of their engagement with NBHN and the hard work and dedication Red Rock’s staff and leadership have shown to reducing tobacco related health disparities, Red Rock’s clients are smoking 46 fewer packs of cigarettes every day – that is $460 per day that clients are not spending on cigarettes, and overall smoking rate has decreased by 17%.
