The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) will host a webinar describing the partnership role local health departments can play to help increase colorectal cancer screening rates. Three local health departments will be featured and will share their experiences in the following areas:
(1) bridging a gap, through community-clinical linkages with a federally qualified health center, to increase colorectal cancer screening rates in the county;
(2) partnering with a state health department to help achieve the 80% by 2018 screening goal, by utilizing United States Preventive Services Task Force guidelines; and
(3) providing screening services to the community, by using unconventional locations to expand the reach of the local health department.
In addition, information will be shared about current and upcoming national resources includes materials that can be leveraged by state and local health departments.
This webinar is supported by funding provided through an American Cancer Society and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cooperative agreement.
