Tobacco-Free Policy Optimization and Enforcement: Tobacco & Behavioral Health Masterclass
Original Air Date: Monday, April 12 from 12:30 – 3 p.m. ET

Individuals with behavioral health conditions want to and can quit smoking, and implementing and enforcing tobacco-free policies in mental health and substance use treatment settings decreases both client and staff tobacco use. Tobacco-free policies provide opportunities for facilities to enhance individuals’ recovery-oriented efforts.

How can we optimize and enforce comprehensive policies to decrease tobacco use, increase tobacco cessation and improve health for our staff and clients?

Join the National Behavioral Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control and our co-hosts at the Smoking Cessation Leadership Center for a real-time expert discussion from University of Colorado-Anschutz Medical Campus subject matter experts Chad Morris, Ph.D., director, Behavioral Health and Wellness Program, and Jim Pavlik, MA, senior program and policy analyst, Behavioral Health and Wellness Program.

You’ll get the tools to strengthen your knowledge around tobacco-free policies and you will:

  • Distinguish components and related activities of comprehensive tobacco-free policy implementation strategies.
  •  Assess organizational readiness to go tobacco-free.
  • Practice how to effectively integrate evidence-based intervention and workflow models during tobacco-free policy implementation.
  •  Demonstrate how to effectively enforce a tobacco-free grounds policy.

In this two-and-a-half-hour workshop, you’ll benefit from a live, face-to-face learning experience via Zoom to support your efforts in evidence-based implementation and enhancement of tobacco-free policies.
Available spots will be on a first-come, first-served basis and capacity will be limited so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

Earn 2.25 hours of FREE credit for participating in the live session on April 12, 2021. You will receive instructions to claim your credit in a post-training email.

This event is co-hosted by UCSF’s Smoking Cessation Leadership Center, the SAMHSA National Center of Excellence for Tobacco-Free Recovery and the  National Behavioral Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control, supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
