Motivational Interviewing to Enhance Youth Tobacco Cessation

Motivational interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based approach that can maximize client engagement, enhance treatment outcomes and support people in behavior change. Providers can use MI skills to complement their tobacco cessation treatment services for youth.

Join the National Behavioral Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control, from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, on Nov. 7, 12-1 p.m. ET, to explore how MI can increase motivation to quit and enhance tobacco cessation in youth experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.
