On March 4-6, 2012, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health convened the Living Well: Strategies for Tobacco Free Recovery Summit. The Summit brought together more than 160 Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) grantees, national, state, and local partners to learn about the latest research, data, and programs that address tobacco prevention, use, and treatment among behavioral health (mental health and substance use disorders) populations. In addition, participants explored the interconnections between chronic disease and behavioral health, as well as best practices for integrating tobacco cessation services into mental health and alcohol and drug treatment programs.
