Overview: Unconscious linguistic bias affects us all, though we do not have these biases intentionally. There are many negative consequences of linguistic bias, however, and they contribute to why minority candidates are not well-represented in higher-level executive positions. Dr. Latterman combines psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic, and social psychological principles to enable leaders to uncover these biases and to help prevent unconscious linguistic bias from unintentionally affecting decision-making. In this webinar, she will provide participants with nuanced, research-based strategies designed to help mitigate the effects of unconscious linguistic bias.
